Karine Bizard, “Dandelions in eternal storm”
Karine Bizard presents “Dandelions in eternal storm” at the Spéos Gallery, 7 rue Jules Vallès, 75011 Paris, from June 6th to September 27th, 2024.
Opening of the exhibition: June 6th 2024, from 6pm to 9pm. Free entrance.
About the exhibition
To be born a dandelion and to endure a constant storm is to be fragile, storm-tossed, scattered all over the earth and yet reborn. The dandelion is the easiest weed to eradicate. But it is also the one that grows back most easily, because it is impossible to destroy its tiny seeds.
Since the Armenian genocide, and despite successive wars in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Armenians have never stopped getting up and living. This project highlights Armenian resilience and resistance, loneliness, loss, death, hope and faith through the unique human stories behind the numbers.
Karine Bizard started this project in the summer of 2023, before the fall of Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2023. She went to meet the Armenians, wounded by the violent 44-day war in September 2020. Then she returned after the exodus of almost 110,000 refugees after the fall of Nagorno-Karabakh.
