About the Paris Match Award

The Prix Photoreportage Étudiant Paris Match aims to reward the curiosity and involvement of students in the world they live in.

For this anniversary edition, sponsored by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, Paris Match received 50,000 entries and pre-selected 15, including 5 Spéos students, 3 of whom won a prize.

For this 20th edition, Paris Match had in fact selected 2 other Spéos students in the final:
– Anton Reyes for his series “Sur les pas des invisibles”.
– Jodhi Mather-Pike, for his series “Regarde-moi dans les yeux”.

The Trophy won for the 3rd year running!

After Habib Dargham in 2021, Antoine Wdo in 2022 and Karine Bizard in 2023, this is the third year in a row that Spéos students have won the Grand Prix Photoreportage Étudiant Paris-Match!

Spéos is proud of its students and teachers, whom we would like to thank for their daily commitment to our students.

Grand Prix Paris Match 2023 Trophy

Karine Bizard, was awarded the Grand Prix Paris Match 2023 trophy, for her photo essay “L’automne du repenti” (The Autumn of the Repentant) on the end of life of Hans Joachim Klein, a German terrorist on the run for 20 years, then imprisoned for 9 years. Released in 2003, he returned to Normandy and was pardoned in 2009. He died on November 9, 2022. A former lawyer, Karine embarked on a career as a photographer, questioning the notion of forgiveness granted by society once a sentence has been served.
