Tari Beroszi, “PERSONA”
Tari Beroszi will present “PERSONA” at the Spéos Gallery, 7 rue Jules Vallès 75011 Paris, from November 13-23, 2018.
Opening of the exhibition: November 13, 2018, from 6pm to 9pm.
Tari Beroszi’s PERSONA photo series refers to the remediable limits of human perception:
“Human perception is murky and the confusion between the real and the unreal embraces us. There is an optical illusion about everyone we meet. We are all characters. Things are not what we observe. What exists is shown to us minimally and in the effort to understand our relationship with the universe, our intellectual knowledge is of little use to us. I only see appearances and shadows. I do not understand what my eyes perceive and distrust my senses. We are like blind people who do not realize they cannot see.”
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Tari Beroszi has studied art since the age of 11. Drawing and painting were the first media she experimented with, however, she found in photography her true language. Tari earned her BA in Visual Communication from the University of Puerto Rico. Shortly afterwards she moved to Paris where she completed the Professional Photography in 1 year program at Spéos. In 2010 she received a Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Savannah College of Art & Design in Atlanta. She was the recipient of the Lexus Grant for Artists in 2013.
Tari’s work has been exhibited in Spain, Brazil, Honk Kong, the United States, France and Puerto Rico.
At the present time she teaches as a Fine Arts Professor in San Juan.
Tari Beroszi is a Spéos Alumni 2005 from the Professional Photography in 1 year Program.
