Martin Söderqvist | “One Season”

Martin Söderqvist presents One Season  at the Speos Gallery – 7 rue Jules Vallès, 75011 Paris.
Exhibition from December 3rd, 2012 to January 11th, 2013.

One Season is a collection of photos taken during the winter of 2011/2012. In an environment far from the studio, where nothing but your own ability can be controlled and the shooting conditions vary by the minute, you only have one chance to get the shot. The photographer adapts to the movement of the sun, the weather, the speed of the skier, and the quality of the snow — but nothing adapts to the photographer.
One Season  showcases action in the mountains, captured milliseconds of man and nature combined in explosive energy. So much more than just a sport, it’s a way of life and a way to create art in movement.
The images on display were photographed in Davos and Disentis, Switzerland, in Lappland, Sweden, and in the Montafon valley, Austria.
Thanks to the professional ski athletes Martin Webrant, Joakim Croy, Reine Barkered and Matilda Croy for making these photos a reality.

A graduate of Speos 2003, Martin Söderqvist is now working as a fulltime action and advertising photographer, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. His clients range from ski magazines and newspapers to clothing brands and ski manufacturers. So far, Martin has had more than 20 magazine covers and his photos have been used for advertising all over the world.
