About the BIFA

The Budapest International Foto Awards (BIFA) present photographers in various categories to share their best images with the creative communities in Hungary and Eastern Europe in general.

About the “Birth” series

With his series “Birth“, Pedro Mendes Levier covered the birth of his daughter Alix, taken with the old camera of his partner’s father, Alix’s grandfather, who passed away over 25 years ago.
This old Pentax K1000 produces supernatural photos by chance, as the photo shows (shot on Ilford Delta 3200).
